Frequently Asked Questions

Q1:    What is the purpose of this event?

A1:     To celebrate what God is already doing at Abiding Savior and to look forward to the future and how each one of us can help embrace the vision and do the work God would have us do here.

Q2:     How is this different from the event in June?

A2:     The event in June was an opportunity to figure out what areas of ministry that our members wanted to focus on and then help them connect and get started.  We are excited about what God has accomplished through those who were there including a new youth director and future youth space, women’s and men’s ministries, hospitality, and Connections ministries.

Q3:    Why should I come?

A3:    We need you!  With all the exciting things beginning to happen in our faith family, we need each member to embrace this new vision and make things happen!  So many are looking for a place to belong and to be in community with others…this is the perfect opportunity!  Besides, you’ll get a free dinner, free drinks, fellowship, and the possibility to win one of several attendance prizes!

Q4:    I haven’t been to church since the pandemic started or in a really long time.  Should I come?

A4:    YES!  There’s never been a better time to see what’s been going on at Abiding Savior and get a first peek at where we are headed!  It’s an exciting time at ASL.  We can’t wait to see you!

Q5:   I have young children, will there be childcare?

A5:    YES! Children ages one and up will be cared for under the supervision of Principal / Vicar Brian Ryherd and a team at Abiding Savior. The children will have snacks and pizza and the reptile guy will be on campus. They are in for a super fun afternoon! Drop off begins at 2pm.

Q6:   What is appropriate to wear at this event?

A6:   There is no need to dress up!  You surely can, but we want you to come, and if jeans will get you there, go for it!

Q7:   How is this free?  How can the church afford a dinner at Andre’s for 300+ people?

A7:    Simply put, we can’t!  Thanks to a generous donor who believes so much in our future that they were willing to donate the food and drink.  Attendance prizes were also donated.

Q8:  Should I bring my checkbook?
A8:  No!  This is free!  The event is not a fundraiser, please leave the checkbook at home.
